The RU-42 Multi-Function Roll Unit from Canon is an accessory for the imagePROGRAF TX-4000 and TX-4100 44" large-format printer. It serves as a second roll unit that works in tandem with the one already included with the printer, forming a multi-function system with expanded versatility.

Once installed, this accessory unit can be configured for either feeding a second roll of media or as a take-up unit to rewind long printouts into their original form. Using it for loading essentially doubles your printing capacity and allows you to have two different media rolls ready for printing at any time. When configured for rewinding, you can choose to have the printed material on the outside or inside of the roll for increased convenience when displaying it.
